![]() Of course this procedure may be different if your using windows 8 or 10, there are plenty of guides on you tube to delete hidden files in chrome if you get stuck. Google Chrome - Download the Fast, Secure Browser from Google double click apply, now go back to your user folder in C:\ and you will now see an APPDATA FOLDER, double click it and then click the LOCAL folder, scroll down and find the google folder and click into it, now you will see the hidden chrome folder where it keeps it data, you need to delete this chrome folder. then I would go to my computer (make sure you have administrator rights) double click C:\ drive > users, now you'll need to unhide system files by clicking your user file name then tools>folder options >view then scroll down to >dont show hidden files and change the setting to >show hidden files folders. In windows 7 for instance I would first go to add/remove programs and uninstall chrome. With the exception of "drag and drop", or "open tab in a new window", which this has nothing, directly, to do with. You need to delete chrome completely and all the hidden files in the user profile, and start fresh. Nor is it even a documented "feature" or "ability". I have confirmed that it is not page-related, because it happens on blank pages and google's own search page too.) But it is surely a bug, as that operation was NEVER intended, by any user. However, this natively jumps to the "min-top/left" position instead. I am sure it's related to the annoying "ability" that some bad pages have when they push a tab out of the window and hide it in the bottom-right corner of the screen. It would just jump back into the same window, but the order might shift to slot-0 or slot. Something you would never see in "full-screen", by the way. When you return and click a tab, that is when it jumps out of the window and opens as a new window. (Seems to also be related to, or limited to happening only after focus of the mouse has been outside the browser window for a while. To do this go to Settings (the easiest way to do this is to type chrome://settings/ into the address bar and hit ENTER. I can go hours without it happening, then it will start glitching and happen several times in an hour, as I flip through tabs. Theres a way to get it to reload all the tabs that you previously had open. A position you can't even place an actual tab or window.)įortunately, it is a little rare to happen. It is also not a "move tab to new window", because the new window is always in position -32,-32 for top and left. (It's also not a "double-click misfire", as double-clicking on a tab does nothing. ![]() It is just the action of clicking that triggers the bug. However, it jumps out of the window instead. Nothing loads in a new window or in incognito. Nothing loads in new tabs unless it's a duplicate. ![]() I had to send myself a link to Google via a Reddit message to be able to use it. The misconception is that you THINK it is related, because it happens when you try to drag a tab around. I can navigate different subreddits and threads in a single tab, but I can't go to a different website. ![]() Since this actually has nothing to do with dragging tabs out of the window. Disabling the "drag-drop" feature would not work. Clicking on a tab (not dragging it out), will shoot the tab out of the tabbed-window as a "new window". It is happening more-often in the last few weeks. Unfortunately, the thing you are describing is NOT a feature, but a bug.
